More precisely it is thus necessary to find the most appropriate set of values for the coefficients of the polynomial. The individual image correction that is elaborated by the program before warping needs then to compute a multi-order polynomial correcting function. That could be however not the case if the distortion is actually not so regular and when straight lines in the object space look like a "moustache" especially on the edges of the image. Generally this is not a big problem since any good panorama software can easily correct this "simple" type of distortion and there is no real hurdle to overcome with suficient care from the user. Many UWA suffer from a big amount of "barrel" distortion. We can observe that all Ultra Wide Angle (UWA) rectilinear lenses are affected with some negative distorsion.
